WELCOME MESSAGE
Dear Students,
Welcome to two of the most exciting school years of your educational career! You will experience many changes as a middle school student. These changes will show through your physical, social, emotional and academic development. Sometimes these changes will be noticeable to you, sometimes not. Our job at BAMS is to help each of you manage these changes, and to help you grow in positive and healthy ways.
Our vision for all who work and learn at BAMS is the following:
LEARNING FOR LIFE
CARING FOR OTHERS
DOING THE RIGHT THING
TOGETHER
Our job is to help you in your desire to Learn, Care and Do the right thing. Our work is to help you be the best student you can be, to help you show care and respect for others, and to help you do the right thing as you learn to make good decisions and healthy choices. It is to help you treat others as you wish to be treated.

Important News for All Parents and Community Members
H1N1 Flu Update from the Health Office:
We are now seeing students every day who have the symptoms of H1N1 and they are being sent home if they have a temperature over 100 degrees and other flu symptoms. There are also several other viruses that are circulating around that are making our students feel sick. Please call the Health Office if you need guidance with your child's symptoms.
In coordination with the VT Dept. of Health, BAMS and BUHS will offer a free H1N1 vaccine clinic to all students in grades 7-12 The clinic is now postponed from November 3, toThursday, December 3, beginning at 8:00 a.m. In advance, parents will receive information about this vaccine and will be asked to approve or deny their child's involvement. As soon as we know more, we will let you know. This vaccine will be for students only.

Military Families and upcoming deployment
Is your family member anticipating military deployment with the Vermont Army National Guard 8 th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Mountain) or another branch of the military? If so, we'd like to know! School counselors in the WSESU district are attempting to identify children and families that will be affected by this deployment so that they can prepare themselves and the community to support you through this potentially difficult time. If you have not done so already, please contact your child's school counselor and let them know that you are expecting your family to be affected by this deployment. Your information will be kept confidential and will be used to help the schools build a higher level of awareness of their student/family needs. School counselors have information about resources available to assist you and your family on a local, state and national level. Feel free to inquire about what is going on. Contact Lucille Messina, Oak Grove School Counselor at 254-4678.
